Your regime, preconfigured
Every hire market has its own statutory alphabet. Lifting equipment in the UK needs LOLER thorough examinations. Electrical gear carries PAT expectations. American operations answer to OSHA. Australia and New Zealand tag and test.
Renttix ships inspection regimes as regional presets — pick the ones that apply to your market and your equipment, and the platform knows each regime's intervals and expectations without you building them from scratch. Custom inspection types cover the regimes and internal standards the presets do not.
Every asset carries its inspection history: what was tested, when, by whom, and the certificate that proves it. Certificates are stored against the inspection, retrievable in seconds when a customer's safety officer asks — and they do ask.
Existing records can be imported, so adopting the system does not mean losing ten years of test history.
Due lists and blocking, not diary notes
Compliance fails quietly. Nothing announces that a certificate lapsed on Tuesday — until the machine is on a customer site and the question arrives with consequences attached.
Renttix surfaces what is due before it is overdue. The due list shows every asset approaching or past its inspection date, so testing is planned work rather than a scramble.
More importantly, compliance connects to booking. Assets with lapsed requirements can warn — or hard-block — when someone tries to book them out, depending on how strict you configure each regime. The choice between 'warn and allow' and 'block until certified' is yours per regime, because a lapsed PAT sticker and a lapsed crane examination are not the same conversation.
Vehicle checks follow the same philosophy: start-of-day inspections can be required before drivers open their jobs, enforced by the platform rather than the depot whiteboard.
When things go wrong anyway
No compliance system prevents every incident. The measure of an operation is what it can prove afterwards.
Insurance claims are tracked in the platform — the incident, the asset, the documentation — so a claim is a record with a history rather than an email thread with attachments.
Chain of custody runs deeper: Renttix tracks custody transitions for assets, so who held a machine, and when, is answerable from the record. Damage captured at returns check-in, photos from drivers and engineers, and signed handover documents from the field all feed the same evidence base.
Handover policies define what proof must be captured for equipment to change hands — signatures, photos, meter readings — and the platform enforces the policy at the point of handover. When the dispute comes, your file is already assembled.

Compliance FAQ
Regional presets cover common statutory regimes — LOLER, PAT, OSHA, Test & Tag and more — and custom inspection types handle anything else, each with its own intervals and reminder behaviour. Existing inspection history can be imported.
Yes, per regime. Choose warn-and-allow for lower-stakes requirements or a hard block that keeps the asset unbookable until a valid inspection is recorded. Certificates live against each inspection for instant retrieval.
Claims are tracked against the asset and incident with documentation attached, and the platform’s evidence base — custody history, damage capture at returns, photos, and signed handovers — is already assembled when the insurer asks.
