How it works
Address autocomplete and place lookup are built into Renttix at the platform level — you do not supply an API key or connect an account. As someone types an address, suggestions appear and the selected place brings its structured detail with it, including the coordinates. That structure is what makes the rest of the delivery chain work. An address chosen from autocomplete arrives already geocoded, so route planning, delivery mapping and driver navigation all have a real position to work from rather than a string of text somebody typed.
Why it matters
Almost every delivery failure that traces back to data begins with an address typed by hand. A transposed house number, a missing unit, an out-of-date postcode — none looks wrong on screen, and all of them surface as a driver standing in the wrong place with equipment on the truck. Catching it at the point of entry is far cheaper than catching it at the point of delivery. Autocomplete makes the correct address the fastest thing to type, which is the only reliable way to change behaviour at a busy hire desk. And because the address arrives geocoded, everything downstream — routing, ETAs, proof of delivery — starts from a known position instead of guessing.
Key workflows
Autocomplete at the point of entry
Addresses are chosen from suggestions as they are typed, so the correct address is the quickest one to enter and malformed addresses do not reach the driver.
Geocoded from the start
A selected place carries its coordinates, so route planning, mapping and navigation work from a real position rather than re-interpreting typed text later.
Built in, nothing to set up
Address lookup is part of the platform. There is no Google account to connect, no key to manage and no per-tenant billing to configure.
Address capture feeds the whole Renttix delivery chain — dispatch jobs, route planning, customer ETAs and the driver map in the Renttix Field app. It works alongside what3words for locations that have no usable street address at all.
Google Maps FAQ
No. Address autocomplete and place lookup are provided at the platform level, so there is no key to obtain, no account to connect and no separate Google billing to manage.
The typed-address errors that cause failed deliveries — wrong numbers, missing units, stale postcodes. Because the correct address becomes the fastest to enter, it changes behaviour at a busy desk rather than relying on care.
Use what3words alongside it. Autocomplete handles conventional addresses; a three-word address identifies a precise point on a site that has no usable address of its own.
