How it connects
Renttix authenticates with your own Airwallex client ID and API key, exchanging them for a short-lived bearer token that is refreshed as it ages. Every call is made against your account, so collected funds settle to you with no platform intermediary. The connection is configured once in the integrations area. Because the token is short-lived and renewed automatically, there is no long-lived secret sitting in a browser and nothing for your team to rotate manually during normal operation.
Why it matters
Hire businesses cross borders more often than people expect — equipment follows projects, events tour, and a depot near a border serves customers on both sides. The moment you invoice in a second currency, conversion spread and receiving fees start quietly eating the margin you priced carefully. Collecting through an account built for multi-currency operation keeps that money. It also removes an awkward operational problem: matching a receipt that arrived in a different currency, and at a different amount, to the invoice that generated it. Renttix already records the invoice currency, so the payment lands against the right document rather than becoming a reconciliation puzzle.
Key workflows
Multi-currency collection
Take payment for hire invoices in the currencies you actually invoice in, rather than forcing every customer through a single currency and absorbing the conversion.
Direct settlement to your account
Requests are authenticated with your own client ID and API key, so funds settle into your Airwallex account with no platform middleman.
Self-maintaining connection
Renttix exchanges your credentials for a short-lived bearer token and refreshes it automatically, so there is no long-lived secret in the browser and nothing to rotate by hand.
Airwallex is the multi-currency option among the eight payment providers Renttix supports, alongside Stripe, PayPal, Square, Razorpay, Mercado Pago, Xendit and Alipay+. It pairs with the multi-currency handling already in Renttix invoicing and the FX rate service behind it.
Airwallex integration FAQ
Probably not — a single-currency business is usually better served by whichever provider its customers already use. Airwallex earns its place when you invoice across currencies and want to avoid converting every receipt.
You supply your own client ID and API key. Renttix exchanges them for a short-lived bearer token and refreshes it automatically, so no long-lived secret is exposed and there is nothing to rotate manually in normal use.
Into your own Airwallex account. Every call is made against your credentials, so Renttix is never a merchant of record and never holds your customers' money.
